“I started on site during the ICI days over 25 years ago as an Instrument Apprentice. As the site changed hands I gained experience in a number of roles within Zeneca, Avecia and Kemfine including: Engineering Maintenance Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Engineering Planner, Maintenance Manager, Utilities Efficiency Manager, Construction and Contracts Manager before becoming the EC&I Responsible Engineer with CalaChem.

I am now a member of the Senior Leadership Team and hold the position of Head of Technical. I am responsible for leading the long term development of business while improving the plants overall safety, environmental performance, reliability and cost performance.” – Robert McCubbing, Head of Technical

“I have been working at Calachem since 2012 as a QC day shift analyst. I have enjoyed working in a good environment with a good group of people.

This role has given me a great deal of experience in interesting and crucial techniques like GC, HPLC, ICP and LCMS. I have also been able to get involved in the vent monitoring side of the department. Using a broad range of techniques to test various sample points across the entire manufacturing site. This side of the job has definitely let me see a different view of the way the company operates.

I recently completed a secondment to work in method development, allowing me to gain more knowledge while dealing with the introduction of methods and instrumentation.” – David Bradshaw, Quality Control Delivery Analyst

“After spending 24 years in the oil industry, I decided to take a job back onshore to be closer to my family. My transferrable skills were well suited to the position and I’ve found the job to be very similar to my previous role offshore.

As Safety Advisor with the company, I’ve found the people at CalaChem to be my main reason for enjoying working here. We have a close knit workforce of outstanding professionals who actively contribute to a positive safety culture. The company has also recently enrolled me on the Management Development Program. Good to see them investing in people.” – John Stodart, Health and safety Advisor
